Access Groceries

The various services listed below are designed to ensure everyone has access to the healthy food they need in an easily accessible manner. Click for info about service times and locations.

On-site Food Pantry

The Food Pantry offers guests fresh fruits and vegetables, personal care items, canned goods and pantry staples, bread, eggs, dairy products, and frozen meat. When available, we also offer diapers, formula, and pet food.

All are welcome. We do not require proof of income or address. If you live outside of mid coast Maine you can dial 211 to reach United Way’s resource directory and find a pantry closer to you. Guests can visit the pantry on behalf of friends, family members, or others in the community and come as frequently as necessary to meet their nutritional needs.

We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and nontraditional kitchen or living situations. Just notify the volunteer who greets you at arrival of your needs.

At your first visit, you’ll complete a short form providing info (name, address, date of birth, etc.) that helps us serve you better as well as an Emergency Food Assistance Form (TEFAP). You do not need to show proof of residence or income!

Satellite Pantries

Satellite Pantries are grocery store-style pantries located in local apartment buildings and community centers. Each site offers a selection of free groceries including produce, meat, dairy, and dry goods to residents, no-questions-asked.

This program grew from recognition that a number of barriers can hinder access to our on-site Food Pantry in Brunswick. Satellite Pantries are designed to fill that gap and increase access to quality, nutritious food by bringing groceries closer to home for our neighbors with limited mobility or no access to transportation.

We hope to identify new locations and develop more partnerships in the future – if there is a place in your community with residents or visitors who could benefit from a Satellite Pantry run by MCHPP, please let us know.
