About Direct-to-Door Deliveries

MCHPP recognizes that several barriers can hinder clients from accessing our regular Food Pantry at our location in Brunswick. MCHPP designed our Direct-to-Door Deliveries to fill that gap by driving food directly to our neighbors in need.

Growth of Delivery Programs

In 1998, MCHPP started the Pantry to Pantry Program to deliver free customized groceries to residents throughout Topsham, Brunswick, and Bowdoin to community members homebound for medical reasons. Since then, the agency has provided food to an average of 60 households every month. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MCHPP decided to expand the Pantry to Pantry Program to more towns and families to provide food to our community’s most vulnerable populations.

In April 2020, MCHPP started to deliver groceries directly to families living at Perryman Village and Bay Bridge Estates in Brunswick. Within a few months, over 75 households participated in the program. In 2021, MCHPP optioned to develop and extend the Neighborhood Delivery Program to distribute groceries directly to entire communities in need.

Pantry to Pantry

The Pantry to Pantry Program is a free grocery delivery service for eligible residents, currently serving but not limited to households in Topsham, Brunswick, and Bowdoin. This program is for those who cannot access our Food Pantry. Community members over the age of 60 or homebound due to a physical or mental health reason qualify for this service. We require proof of age or documentation from a medical professional verifying that you meet these requirements.

If approved, you will be required to complete paperwork about your dietary needs. MCHPP will provide customized boxes that meet your preferences and restrictions.

Please contact Devyn at dsantora@mchpp.org or (207)725-2716 x311 if you have questions or want to sign up.

Neighborhood Deliveries

Neighborhood Deliveries is a free grocery delivery service currently serving, but not limited to, residents of Bay Bridge Estates Mobile Home Park and Perryman Village in Brunswick. Groceriesincluding a box of dry goods, meat, eggs, bread, an optional produce bag, and other miscellaneous goodsare delivered biweekly right to the household’s doorstep. All residents, both individuals and families, of the neighborhoods we currently serve are eligible for deliveries. Due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone is eligible to receive these groceries.

As of April 2021, MCHPP serves nearly 100 households every month. Dedicated volunteers prepare and pack boxes, driving and distributing them weekly. With more individuals staying home and children learning virtually this year in particular, Neighborhood Deliveries has allowed us to safely reach and feed households while allowing them to stay safe in their own homes throughout the pandemic. We are eager to expand programming to more neighborhoods in our service area.

If you have any questions or live in a neighborhood you think could benefit from this service, please contact Brie at bnicolaou@mchpp.org or (207)725-2716 x314.
