Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program will host its annual Harvest Dinner as a Pop-up Chef Series on October 23, November 13, and December 4, featuring local chefs Ali Waks-Adams, Chris Toy, Sanctuary Baking, and more. Proceeds from this series will benefit MCHPP’s efforts to provide local food-insecure families with access to healthy, reliable nutrition.

“Our Harvest Dinners, traditionally, bring members of the community together to celebrate the season’s end, while also generating critical funds needed to help families facing food insecurity,” explains MCHPP Executive Director Karen Parker. “In an effort to keep everyone safe, this year’s event will be a bit different. We will still be offering donors delicious meals but they can now be enjoyed in the comfort of their own homes.”

The Harvest Dinner’s first Chef Pop-up, scheduled for Friday, October 23, features a menu by Ali Waks-Adams, former Executive Chef at The Brunswick Inn, which offers a choice of pork chop stuffed with roasted pears, cornbread and sausage over sweet potato puree and local greens, or maple miso roasted winter squash, faro, hazelnuts and local greens. A dessert add-on of sweet potato cheesecake with orange cream, offered by Sanctuary Baking, will also be featured.

The second Chef Pop-up on November 13, will welcome Chris Toy, local chef, cooking instructor and author of Easy 30-Minute Stir-Fry Cookbook: 100 Asian Recipes for your Wok or Skillet. Chris will be preparing roasted seasonal vegetables caramelized in balsamic reduction alongside garlic ginger sesame chicken or roasted peppers stuffed with herbed whipped potatoes, both served over vegetable fried rice.

Tickets are limited, so please reserve your pop-up plate today at www.mchpp.org/harvestdinner.
